HyperStudy offers three plan tiers to meet different research needs. This guide explains plan features, pricing, and how to manage your subscription.

Plan Details
Free Plan
The Free plan is ideal for:
- Individual researchers getting started
- Small pilot studies
- Testing the platform
Limitations:
- No video chat capabilities
- No API access for external integrations
- Single user only
Pro Plan
The Pro plan is designed for:
- Research teams and labs
- Studies requiring video chat
- Projects needing API integration
Key Features:
- Video Chat - Real-time audio/video communication between participants
- HLS Transcoding - Automatic video optimization for smooth playback
- API Access - Programmatic access to your data
Enterprise Plan
The Enterprise plan is built for:
- University departments
- Research institutions
- Large-scale studies
Key Features:
- Unlimited resources - No caps on experiments or participants
- Custom Branding - Add your institution's logo and colors
- Priority Support - Dedicated support channel
Upgrading Your Plan
To upgrade to a paid plan:
- Go to Settings > Organizations
- Select your organization
- Click the Billing tab
- Click Upgrade Plan
- Select your desired plan
- Enter payment information
- Confirm the upgrade
Your new plan takes effect immediately.
What Happens When You Upgrade
- New quotas are available immediately
- All new features are enabled
- Existing experiments continue unchanged
- Billing cycle starts from upgrade date
Managing Your Subscription
Viewing Billing Information
The Billing tab shows:
- Current plan and status
- Next billing date
- Payment method
- Billing history
Updating Payment Method
- Go to Settings > Organizations > Billing
- Click Manage Payment Method
- Enter new payment details
- Click Update
Downloading Invoices
- Go to Settings > Organizations > Billing
- Scroll to Billing History
- Click the download icon next to any invoice
Changing Plans
Upgrading
Upgrading takes effect immediately. You'll be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your billing cycle.
Downgrading
To downgrade to a lower plan:
- Ensure your usage is within the new plan's limits
- Go to Billing > Change Plan
- Select the lower plan
- Confirm the downgrade
The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
Before downgrading, ensure your:
- Experiment count is within the new limit
- Storage usage is within the new limit
- Team size is within the new limit
You cannot downgrade if you exceed the new plan's quotas.
Canceling
To cancel your paid subscription:
- Go to Settings > Organizations > Billing
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Confirm cancellation
After cancellation:
- Your plan continues until the end of the billing period
- You'll be moved to the Free plan
- Data exceeding Free plan limits may become inaccessible
Plan Status
Your subscription can have the following statuses:

| Trialing | On a free trial period |
| Past Due | Payment failed, retrying |
| Canceled | Subscription ended |
Handling Payment Failures
If a payment fails:
- You'll receive an email notification
- We'll retry the payment several times
- Update your payment method if needed
- After multiple failures, your plan may be downgraded

For Enterprise plans or custom pricing:

- Include your organization name and requirements
- We'll schedule a call to discuss your needs
Enterprise features include:
- Custom quotas based on your needs
- Single sign-on (SSO) integration
- Dedicated account manager
- Custom SLAs
